Coming out – Portugal report

This is the final national report for Portugal of an EU wide study undertaken by a research
partnership consisting of researchers from institutions in five EU Member States in which it focused
particular attention. This report arises from the fieldwork carried out in Portugal as part
of the Free to Choose (FtC) project, aimed at identifying gender stereotypes mainly related to
education and to work perspectives, so involving young people aged 15 to 29 years, in the
context of the school-to-work transition. It follows the structure and the research methodology
proposed by Professors Capitolina Díaz and Anna Giulia Ingellis of the University of Valencia, the
coordinators of Workstream 1 of the project Free to Choose.

Co-funded by the Rights, Equality & Citizenship Programme of the European Union.
